TikTok Video Downloader

Save any public TikTok video in HD without the watermark, or pull just the audio as an MP3. Free, no account, no install.

How to download a TikTok video

1

Copy the link

In the TikTok app, tap Share and then Copy link. On desktop, just copy the URL from your browser's address bar — both formats work.

2

Paste it above

Drop the link into the box and press Download. We resolve the link and read the video's metadata, which usually takes two to four seconds.

3

Pick a format

Choose the clean HD file, the watermarked version, or audio only as MP3. The file transfers straight from TikTok to your device.

Why the watermark is there in the first place

TikTok does not store your video with a logo on it. When you upload, the platform keeps the file essentially as you sent it — that clean master is what plays in the feed. The watermark is added at a different moment entirely: the instant someone taps Save video, TikTok renders a fresh copy with its wordmark and the creator's @username composited into the pixels, and hands you that copy instead.

This is why the logo moves between corners every few seconds. A static watermark can be cropped out in one edit. One that visits all four corners cannot be cropped without wrecking the framing of the shot — that is the entire point of the movement.

It also explains why downloaders differ so much in quality. A tool that requests the master gives you a file that never had a watermark, pixel-identical to the upload. A tool that downloads the watermarked copy and tries to blur the logo away leaves four soft rectangles tracing the old logo path, and the result looks worse than the watermark did. We do the former.

There is a quality side-effect worth knowing about: the watermarked copy is re-encoded during compositing, which costs a generation of detail. Requesting the master skips that step, so the clean file is genuinely a little sharper — not because the logo is gone, but because it avoided a second round of compression.

What you get

The original file

We request the master TikTok stored at upload, so there is no watermark to remove and no blurred patch where one used to be.

🎵

Audio as MP3

Pull just the sound when the visuals are beside the point — useful for editing, or when you only wanted the track.

🔒

Nothing stored

Files move directly from TikTok's servers to your device. We never host the media, and we never ask for your TikTok login.

📱

Every device

Entirely browser-based. Works on iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows and Mac with nothing to install.

What this tool cannot do

Most downloader sites only list what works. These are the real limits, so you do not waste time:

  • Private and friends-only videos. We can only reach what is publicly viewable without an account. Any site claiming otherwise wants your TikTok password — do not give it to them.
  • Deleted videos. Once a creator removes an upload, it leaves TikTok's CDN within minutes. A link that worked yesterday can be dead today, and there is no recovery route.
  • Improving the source quality. If TikTok only still holds a compressed rendition of an old upload, that is what you get. Nothing can recover detail that is not in the file — "AI 4K upscaling" invents pixels, it does not restore them.
  • Making reuse legal. A clean file is not permission. Copyright stays with the creator whether or not the logo is on it.

Frequently asked questions

Is SnapTikHD really free?

Yes — no charge, no download cap, no account. The site is paid for by the ads you see alongside the articles.

Where do my downloads go?

Wherever your browser puts downloads. On iPhone and iPad that is Files → Downloads, not your camera roll — open it there, tap Share, then Save Video to move it into Photos. On Android and desktop it lands in your Downloads folder.

Can I download private or age-restricted videos?

No. Only publicly viewable content can be processed. We never ask for TikTok credentials, and you should be extremely suspicious of any site that does.

Do you keep copies of what I download?

No. We do not host, cache or archive any media — the file transfers directly from TikTok's servers to your device. There is no library here to browse.

Why is my download lower quality than the video looked in the app?

TikTok keeps several renditions of each upload and serves whichever fits the requesting device. For older videos, sometimes only a compressed rendition still exists. We hand you the best one available.

It says "Invalid TikTok URL" but the link looks fine

Usually one of three things: you pasted a profile link with no /video/ in it, the surrounding share text came along with the URL, or there is a trailing space. Paste the URL on its own.

Am I allowed to repost what I download?

Your own videos, yes. Someone else's, not without asking — the video is copyrighted from the moment it is recorded, and removing the watermark removes the credit, not the ownership. Our copyright policy goes through this properly.
